Douglas Kalagian is an independent filmmaker from Orange County, California. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA, he served in China as an educator with the Peace Corps from 2013-2014. When he returned to the US, he began his career in digital media production and marketing. Driven by a curiosity about his identity, Armenian history, and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he obtained his Master of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict studies from the University of Norway in 2021. This academic pursuit fueled his independent production of a feature-length documentary exploring the political and social issues related to diaspora, genocide, and conflict. His ambition is rooted in a desire to leverage storytelling to make a positive impact on society.
